BindingBlind tooled brown calf. Design using Oldham's panel TR IP 1, probably from Ghent or Antwerp but often found on English-owned books of this period. Early 16th century. The former pasteboards were made of half-leaves of an early printed missal possibly of Liege use, printed by P. Drach in Speier in 1502. and 2 leaves of a 13th century medical manuscript. These were detached from the book when it was rebound in 1969. (A.I. Doyle notes.) They can no longer be located.

Annotations in the hand of Thomas Swalwell (-1539), although there is no note of ownership of this volume as in others. The section on Matthew is heavily annotated but there are scarcely any annotations in Mark. Ownership inscription of Sir Thomas Tempest, Baronet on title page. 17th century. Owned by the parish of St Mary Yealand Conyers and deposited in Ushaw 1951.
